UK Trailblazers provides ADVENTURE FOR LIFE!
We are Christians inspired by the outdoors and
passionate about adventure and want to make it available for anyone and
from all walks of life. We believe that spending time away from routine
and in the great outdoors with friends, family or alone is something
that everyone should experience whether young or old and Rock UK
Trailblazers embraces this through the provision of an ever increasing
range of adventures and destinations.
As part of the Rock UK experience your journey of
adventure can start at one of our centres continuing with a UK mini
expedition and then extend into a summer or winter holiday overseas. To
challenge yourself further why not complete a charity challenge and
raise funds for your chosen charity or an adventure project to help
people Adventure to help people and projects in need. Finally we can
offer adventure training for technical skills, personal development and
outdoor qualification.
Our combined experience and expertise of adventure
provision through Trailblazers and our adventure centres coupled with
our strong partnerships with some of the most reputable worldwide
adventure providers means that Rock UK really can provide all your
adventure needs.
Rock UK Adventure Centres
In 1922 a group of Sunday
school teachers from London took their schoolchildren, who had never had
a holiday, out of the city to the South coast for a healthy and
adventurous time.
Since then a nationwide
business has evolved out of that simple idea to help children experience
some fun and learn more about the outdoors as well as themselves. For
many, many years we were called Barnabas – taking our name from
Barnabas, who alongside St Paul, was an adventurer. Barnabas has been
described as being an encourager, helping people to push their
boundaries in order to find a way to connect with God.
The essence of Barnabas
lives on in our hearts and we have taken forward his spirit into today’s
organisation, which as of 2009 has a new name, Rock UK, but a set of
values which are very much rooted in our heritage and our Christian
faith
Rock UK exists to create
life long memories for youth and all people who come to our centres. We
love to help young people in particular push the boundaries of their
comfort zones and give them the confidence to understand more about
their own spiritual, mental and physical capabilities.
We’re here to provide them
an environment which is secure, safe and re-affirming of people. We
encourage and foster a culture of positivity at our centres, showing
people the power that positive attitudes can have on the individual as
well as a wider group.
Ultimately we want this
environment and culture to have a lasting effect on those that have come
and spent some time with us. We want people who’ve been here to be able
to look back and say, ‘A spark was ignited when I stayed at Rock UK. I
became more confident, more adventurous, more independent, more secure
in who I was’. |
