FUNDRAISING

The whole purpose of Sponsored Challenges is for you to fundraise for a charity, so it’s important that you commit from the outset to make every effort to raise funds. Start early, get help from your friends and make full use of the materials and support that Trailblazers provide. You might be surprised at what you achieve.

When you sign up, we send you our exclusive Sponsorship Guide, full of advice and good ideas, plus sponsor forms. Your charity will provide you with detailed information on the project for which you are raising funds.

We will also have a session on Fundraising at our special Briefing Day, which many past participants have found to be very valuable. And we will continue to provide fundraising support via telephone and e-mail, if you need it.

Talking about fundraising, John Gravett said "It has gone far better than I expected and some people's generosity has far exceeded my expectations."

BRIEFING DAY

A few months before the Challenge, we run a unique Briefing Day including:

·          Fundraising workshop

·          Detailed information on the itinerary

·          Tips on fitness and training

·          Advice on kit and equipment (and for some Challenges we provide discount vouchers for Cotswold Outdoors)

For Exclusive Challenges a project briefing will also be included. (If you are on a shared Challenge, your charity will brief you separately).

FITNESS

Most of our Challenges are suited to anyone of average health and fitness, although we ask that you get into regular training 3-6 months before your Challenge. This is to a) ensure that you enjoy your Challenge and b) that you don’t hold others up and leave them feeling frustrated!

Kilimanjaro is the exception. This is a physically demanding challenge so please do contact us for advice.

FAITH

Trailblazers and many of our partner charities are Christian managed. But you don’t need to be a Christian to take part.
